Tinubu officially notified the Senate of his decision to terminate the appointments of three in a letter addressed to the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, citing Section 157 (1) of the 1999 Constitution, as amended, as the basis for his action. The letter was read at the plenary session of the Senate on Wednesday.
According to the letter, the three commissioners had been suspended for misconduct since March 2022, even before the current administration took office. Tinubu then, urged the Senate to consider his request expeditiously.
