Afa Igbo Efuna, a socio-cultural and political advocacy organization committed to the unity, advancement, and protection of Ndi Igbo made the commendation in a statement signed by
Mazi Nzubechi Maduagwu.
Afa Igbo Efuna, further hailed the outstanding achievement of Nigerian students who won gold medals at the International STEM Olympiad Grand Finale.
Maduagwu's statement read, "We congratulate Chimdiebube Onwubiko, Don Anele Munachimso Marvelous, and Egejurum Onyedikachi Ethan from Anambra, Imo, and Enugu States, for their exceptional performance and for bringing honour to Nigeria through their excellence in STEM.
"This achievement is a source of pride for Nigeria, the South East, and communities such as Aguata, Anambra State, where young talents continue to demonstrate the importance of hard work, discipline, and quality education.
"Afa Igbo Efuna Worldwide recognizes that the success of these students reflects the importance of investing in education and creating opportunities for young people to develop their talents. Their accomplishments show that Ndi Igbo and Nigerian students can compete and succeed on the global stage when they receive the necessary support.
"We extend our sincere appreciation to the Chief Executive Officer, Educare,  Alex Onyia, for his commitment and facilitation in sponsoring these talented students and helping provide them with the opportunity to represent Nigeria at the international STEM Olympiad in Rome. His contribution demonstrates the positive impact individuals and organisations can make when they invest in the education and future of our children.
"UNESCO recognizes education as a fundamental human right and emphasizes that investment in education promotes innovation, sustainable development, equality of opportunity, and the empowerment of future generations.
"Afa Igbo Efuna Worldwide therefore calls on the South East governors to continue strengthening investment in education by supporting schools, teachers, STEM programmes, scholarships, research, technology, and initiatives that identify and nurture talented young people.
"We continue to encourage the South East governors to continue to meet, and even exceed the existing 15 to 20 percent UNESCO's annual budgetary allocation benchmark for education and demonstrate stronger commitment to educational development across the region. Greater investment in education will help improve learning environments, support teachers, expand STEM opportunities, and prepare our young people to compete successfully in the global economy.
"We urge our leaders, communities, and private organisations to work together to build an education system where every child has the opportunity to discover, develop, and achieve their full potential.
"The future of our communities depends on the knowledge, skills, creativity, and determination of our children. Investment in education today is an investment in economic growth, innovation, leadership, and the development of future generations.
"Afa Igbo Efuna Worldwide celebrates these young champions, their families, teachers, mentors, schools, and everyone who contributed to their success. Their achievements serve as an inspiration to students across Nigeria, Africa, and the world."
