Terrorism: Finnish Court Reduces Simon Ekpa’s Six-year Jail Term
The Päijät-Häme District Court in Finland, has reduced Simon Ekpa's six- year sentence in prison.
The Päijät-Häme District Court in Finland, has reduced Simon Ekpa's six- year sentence in prison. to four years, after last year, sentenced Mr Ekpa to six years in prison to four years.
The District Court had last year in Finland, sentenced Ekpa to six years in prison after finding him guilty of terrorism-related charges.
Apart from terrorism, the Finnish court also convicted Mr Ekpa of “aggravated tax fraud.”
But Ekpa appealed the judgement at a higher court.
Delivering judgement on Thursday, the appeal court upheld the decision by Päijät-Häme District Court which found the Biafra agitator guilty of terrorism.
The court, however, ordered the reduction of the six-year jail term imposed on the convict to four years, Yle, a Finnish newspaper, reported.
