SELDI Installs 20 KV Solar Infrastructure at Enugu Campus of Nigerian Law School
In a bid to curb the incessant power blackouts crippling learning across the nation, the South East Law & Development Initiative, SELDI, Friday,  August 21, 2026, officially commissioned a 20KV Solar and cooling project at the Augustine Nnamani Campus of the Nigerian Law School in Agbani.
SELDI' intervention would ensure improvement in the severe energy deficit occasioned poor supply of electricity through the national grid through the installation of the off-grid solar infrastructure, which would guarantee uninterrupted learning and research for hundreds of future legal practitioners.
Speaking on the occasion, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, SAN, and chairman of the Council of Legal Education,
Emeka Ngige  said the project would directly upgrade critical installations across the campus to end reliance on unstable grid systems and expensive generator fuel:
10 KVA Solar Off-Grid System for the Auditorium would ensure uninterrupted, clean electricity to the campus’s flagship lecture hall, while the remaining 10 KVA Solar system was dedicated to the Library also, powers the central research hub around the clock.
Meanwhile, the Climate Control Overhaul equips the campus library with 10 heavy-duty air conditioning units and seven additional fans, dramatically transforming study conditions.
Prior to Friday’s formal ceremony, the Head of Campus, Deputy Director-General P. Chibueze Okorie had confirmed that the installations were fully functional, describing the move as a transformative leap forward for student welfare and academic output.
By pairing high-capacity solar setups with comprehensive climate control, the Agbani campus now stands as a blueprint for modern, resilient legal education facilities in Nigeria.
