Retired Warrant Officer Reportedly Murdered By Own Son 

A retired Warrant Officer, WO, of the Nigerian Army, Idi Inusa Salihu, has been reportedly murdered by his own son.

Salihu who hailed from Jigawa State was matcheted to death, according to a Community Leader in the area, Chief Aliyu Umar.

Announcing Salihu's death in a statement, Umar said, "It is with deep sorrow and a heavy heart that I announce the tragic and shocking death of our regular, WO Idi Inusa Salisu, who hails from Jigawa State. He was brutally murdered by his own biological son with a matchet, a heartbreaking and unimaginable act that has shaken us all.

"Idi was a decorated veteran who served this nation with honour and selflessness. To lose such a man in this gruesome manner is not only painful but deeply disturbing. 

"It is a painful reminder that our enemies are not always distant or obvious; they can be within our own homes, among those we trust the most.

"If a son can kill his own father so mercilessly, it is a clear and frightening sign that so-called friends or close associates can do even worse. In such a world, betrayal can come not only with heartbreak but with deadly consequences, potentially extending harm even to other family members.

"Let this tragedy awaken in us the need for wisdom, caution, and vigilance, no matter how close the relationship. We must protect ourselves even from our families with both prayers and prudence."
