The Police have confirmed that 10 persons were killed during an attack by suspected herdsmen at Amagu village in Ishielu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State,
The state Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Superintendent Joshua Ukandu, confirmed the incident on Sunday in Abakaliki while speaking with reporters in his office.
According to Ukandu, the attack occurred on Sunday morning.
His words, "Several houses were also burnt selectively in the area and other properties destroyed.
“Upon receipt of the information, we drafted police operatives to the area.
”We are currently investigating the incident while normalcy has returned to the area."
The rampaging herdsmen were alleged to have embarked on a reprisal attack, following the killing of their cattle, allegedly by unknown gunmen, sometime in the past
