The Governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party, has been re-elected for a second term in office following Saturday's governorship election.

The returning officer, Prof. Joshua Olalekan Ogunwole who announced the result at the early hour of Sunday, August 16, 2026, declared Adeleke winner of the poll and returned him elected.
The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, announced Senator Adeleke as winner of the election, noting that he defeated his closest opponent and candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Bola Oyebanji who polled 444, 315 with 511,067 votes.
About 2,339,544 voters were accredited for the election while the total votes announced was 985,079 and 2,0721 votes was rejected.
