The Niger State Governor, Umaru Bago, has presented the 2025 budget estimate of ₦1.558 trillion to the state House of Assembly for consideration and approval.
The budget represents a 48.32% increase compared to the 2024 appropriation.
Tagged “Budget of Hope for Sustainability and Food Security,” Bago said that the budget would accord priority to investments in agriculture and infrastructure among others.
A breakdown of the figure shows that the total budget for 2025 would be higher than the 2024 appropriation by 48.32%.
However, ₦196.335 billion (13% of the budget size) will be for recurrent expenditure, while ₦1.362 trillion or about 87 percent would be for capital expenditure.
