The Obayi Royal family of Nguru Nsukka, in Nsukka Local Government Area of Enugu State, has announced the passing of the King's mother and matriach, Nnemuroha Lolo Cecilia Ovute Obayi, Nee, Omeje.
The Obayi Royal family of Nguru Nsukka, in Nsukka Local Government Area of Enugu State, has announced the passing of the King's mother and matriach, Nnemuroha Lolo Cecilia Ovute Obayi, Nee, Omeje.
Lolo Ovute Obayi was the widow of Igwe Patrick Obayi, and mother of the present traditional ruler of the community, Igwe Linus Nosike Obayi, Mrs Rita Asogwa as well as Hon Ethel Obayi among many others.
According to the burial arrangements signed by Igwe Linus Obayi for the entire Obayi family, there will be Christian Wake at her family compound, Ideke Palace Nguru Nsukka at 5 pm on Thursday, May 1, 2025.
On Friday, May 2, 2025: the body leaves Micheal Obayi Memorial Hospital Mortuary at 8am for a brief stop at her ancestral home, Ameze Owerri Nsukka before lying in State at Ideke Palace, Nguru Nsukka by 9am
The funeral mass begins by 10 am at St. Anthony’s Catholic Parish, Nguru Nsukka, followed by Interment at the Family Cemetery even as the funeral ceremony continues by 2pm.
