The Gumel Emirate is one of the historic traditional institutions in northern Nigeria, with the emirate playing an important role in the cultural and traditional affairs of Jigawa State.

Governor Namadi expressed appreciation to the kingmakers of the Gumel Emirate Council, led by the Wazirin Gumel, Alhaji Adamu Muhammad Nasoro, for their role in the selection process.
He also thanked the Emirs of Hadejia, Kazaure, Ringim and Dutse, who constitute the Jigawa State Council of Chiefs, for their advice during the process.

His words, “We pray that Allah SWT forgive his sins, accept his good deeds, and grant him Al-Jannatul Firdaus. May Allah also grant the family, the Emirate, and the people of Jigawa the strength and fortitude to bear this irreplaceable loss. May Allah admit him into Jannatul Firdaus together with our departed parents and loved ones.”
