Kemi Badenoch’s Identity Debate Holds Zero Value For Nigeria – Kingsley Moghalu
Former presidential candidate Kingsley Moghalu has criticized the heated exchanges between the Nigerian Presidency and UK MP Kemi Badenoch over her identity. He urged leaders to prioritize economic development over debates that offer no tangible benefit to ordinary Nigerians.
Former presidential candidate, Kingsley Moghalu, has condemned the intense altercations between the Nigerian Presidency and a member of the parliament in the United Kingdom, Kemi Badenoch over her identity, saying "it does not hold any value for the country."
Moghalu spoke against the backdrop of the ongoing controversy between the presidency and Badenoch in a post on his official X handle on Sunday.
However, Moghalu said, “Even if she were to become the UK Prime Minister tomorrow morning, it would have absolutely ZERO implications (or benefits even) for Nigeria and Nigerians.
“So why all the fuss? Nigerian leaders and Nigerians should fix Nigeria’s problems. “Claiming” Kemi or her “denying” Nigeria won’t solve them."
Badenoch had defended her remarks about Nigeria following criticism from the vice president, Kashim Shettima, who accused her of disrespecting her heritage.
