Kemi Badenoch’s Identity Debate Holds Zero Value For Nigeria – Kingsley Moghalu

Former presidential candidate Kingsley Moghalu has criticized the heated exchanges between the Nigerian Presidency and UK MP Kemi Badenoch over her identity. He urged leaders to prioritize economic development over debates that offer no tangible benefit to ordinary Nigerians.

Former presidential candidate,  Kingsley Moghalu, has condemned the intense altercations between the Nigerian Presidency and a member of the parliament in the United Kingdom, Kemi Badenoch over her identity, saying "it does not hold any value for the country."

Moghalu, an economist, advised Nigerian leaders to focus on building the country’s economy, instead of concentrating on matters that do not add value to the well-being of the ordinary Nigerians. saying that the intense recent debate on 
Moghalu spoke against the backdrop of the ongoing controversy between the presidency and Badenoch  in a post on his official X handle on Sunday.
His stance follows Badenoch’s rise in British politics and her recent comments distancing herself from her Nigerian roots.
Badenoch, had since faced criticism for the comments seen as distancing herself from her birthplace, Nigeria.
However, Moghalu said, “Even if she were to become the UK Prime Minister tomorrow morning, it would have absolutely ZERO implications (or benefits even) for Nigeria and Nigerians.
“So why all the fuss? Nigerian leaders and Nigerians should fix Nigeria’s problems. “Claiming” Kemi or her “denying” Nigeria won’t solve them." 
Badenoch had defended her remarks about Nigeria following criticism from the vice president, Kashim Shettima, who accused her of disrespecting her heritage.
