ISWAP/ Boko Haram Terrorists Escalate Deployment Of Drones Against Troops Across Northeast

The military high command has exposed plans by Boko Haram and I SWAP terrorists to deploy armed drones against military units and formations across the northeast states which are the theartres of the terrorism war in the fight country.

Sources told the Southeast Post in Yola, Adamawa State that there have been cases of renewed drone strikes against troops in the northeast.

It was noted that "Technical exploitation revealed renewed plans by ISWAP/ Boko Haram terrorists to deploy armed drones against military units and formations across Yobe, Borno and Adamawa States."

According to sources, the new development came to light following interception of a manual tagged, "Modern Warfare: Attaching A Drop Mechanism," detailing how to equip a payload release mechanism or payload dropper on a 15-inch DroView Payload Drone."

This was even as the terrorists had shown remarkable abilities to harness sophisticated technology, utilization of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, UAV, for surveillance and other offensive operations. 

It was further noted that the acquisition of the manual could enhance their capacity to weaponize drones and deploy them against troops in a bid to inflict casualties, while preserving their depleted fighting force, hence the need to equip frontline units/formations with drone jamming equipment to enable them effectively neutralize threats posed by UAVs.
