A US-based lobbying firm has alleged that an unidentified person purportedly connected to President Bola Tinubu offered $3 million to the company's founder to stop its campaign over records concerning Tinubu's heroin investigations in the United States of America.
A US-based lobbying firm has alleged that an unidentified person purportedly connected to President Bola Tinubu offered $3 million to the company's founder to stop its campaign over records concerning Tinubu's heroin investigations in the United States of America.
The company noted that it's founder,
Dr Karl Von Batten, was invited to million bribe invited its founder to a confidential meeting in London in an attempt to bribe him over the heroin investigation story now before a US court.
The firm made the allegations through the microblogging platform X (formerly Twitter), on Wednesday, noting that its founder, Dr Karl Von Batten, was offered $3 million “a few days ago.”
The company also noted that the offer which came from a “highly placed individual” was intended to persuade Von Batten to end the campaign concerning what it described as Tinubu’s alleged heroin-trafficking records.
The statement further stated that, its founder, Von Batten, rejected the offer and preserved copies of the communications.
Following the offer, Batten was said to have contacted members of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar’s campaign to establish the nature of the individual’s alleged relationship with Tinubu, even as
a smear campaign against Von Batten began shortly after he rejected the offer.
According to the firm, “We will be providing the $3m offer and related communications to our friends at the Department Of Justice, DOJ and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, FBI.”
Although the identity of the individual was not disclosed and no evidence was released to substantiate the claim, it is worth noting that the allegation comes as Von Batten-Montague-York continues its campaign for the release of US government records relating to allegations concerning Tinubu.
The company has asked for the release of FBI and Drug Enforcement Administration, DEA, records connected to past US investigations involving President Tinubu, even as the records are part of an ongoing Freedom of Information Act case filed by American transparency activist Aaron Greenspan against the DEA and FBI.
