How Controversial FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, Issued C of O To Proxy Firm Amid Allegations Of Land- Grabbing Scandal ---- Documents Reveal
Newly surfaced documents reveal that FCT Minister Nyesom Wike fast-tracked the approval of land titles for a proxy company, Saravera Nigeria Limited, within three weeks—a process that typically takes months.
SaharaReporters------- More documents from the Department of Land Administration of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Administration, FCTA, have exposed how under-fire FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, approved and issued Right of Occupancy and Certificate of Occupancy document to a proxy company in three weeks, a process which usually takes months for applicants.
The R of O and C of O documents which were obtained on Friday were issued to Saravera Nigeria Limited, even as both were dated October 15 and November 11, respectively, with the latter document signed by the FCT minister, Nyesom Wike.
SaharaReporters had on Thursday reported that more documents from the Corporate Affairs Commission, CAC, indicted the FCT Minister, Wike’s personal lawyer, Ferdinand Orbih, and the former Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, governorship candidate in Cross River State in the 2023 elections, Sandy Onor, in the Abuja land grab scandal.
The documents had shown that Onor is a director at ALEED Construction Limited with a total number of 500,000 shares, whom sources said is also Wike’s confidant.
Other documents from the CAC showed that the Minority Leader in the House of Representatives, Chinda, is also a serving director in one of such companies known as Saravera Nigeria Limited.
Also, Orbih who is a shareholder of the same ALEED Construction Limited with a total number of 500,000 shares, is the minister’s personal lawyer “that represents him in all his controversial cases.”
Meanwhile, the C-of-O issued by Wike partly reads, “THIS IS TO CERTIFY THAT SARAVERA NIGERIA LIMITED whose address is 18, SUEZ CRESCENT, ZONE 4 WUSE, ABUJA, FCT, NIGERIA. Therein after called the holder/ holders, which firm shall include any person/persons in stle), is hereby granted a night of occupancy in and over the land described in the schedule, and more particularly in the plan printed hereto for a term of 99 years commencing from the 15th day of October, 2024 according to the true intent and meaning of the Land Use Act No. 6 of 1978 and subject to the provisions thereof and to the following special terms and conditions…
“Dated this 12th day of November, 2024, Given under my hand the day, month and year above written, Ezenwo Nyesom Wike con, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory. This instrument is registered as No. 65538 at Page.”
SaharaReporters hadreported that CAC documents showed that another company, ALEED Construction Limited was registered on May 14, 1997 with a registration number 307460 and address at Agbada II, Shell Oil Location Road, Igwuruta, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, as a private company limited by shares
SaharaReporters earlier reported that Wike had been alleged to be notoriously taking over lands in several areas and reallocating them to his cronies, using “front companies” and rendering residents perplexed and homeless.
It was alleged that Saravera and Aleed Construction Limited are two of the front companies being used by the FCT minister, Wike and under the control of Kingsley Chinda and one Adapoyi Akor, to reallocate revoked lands to himself.
It was learnt that already, the Code of Conduct Bureau, CCB, is under pressure to investigate Chinda and Wike for land racketeering as calls have been going to President Bola Tinubu to probe the land matters.
“The Southern leaders council wants CCB to arrest Wike, Chinda over the leaked evidence of abuse of office, land racketeering and violation of the Code of Conduct Act. They are also demanding that President Tinubu should prosecute the duo and the House of Reps must suspend Chinda,” a source had revealed to SaharaReporters.
“This is a documentary evidence of how Wike revokes innocent people’s lands like late Colonel Ogbebor and reallocates to himself using front companies managed and owned by his confidant, Kingsley Chinda, a sitting House of Reps member in violation of the Code of Conduct law and one Adapoyi, his agent,” the source added.
