Residents said that two of the dislodged bases were located in Matte and Rann.
The Governor of Borno State, Prof Babagsna Zulum, had expressed concerns about Boko Haram's increasing access to sophisticated weapons, which he said had likely contributed to the group's continued violence and instability in the region.
Zulum's concerns highlight the ongoing security challenges in northeastern Nigeria and the need for sustained efforts to address the root causes of the insurgency and thereby, improving regional security.
However, residents who spoke on the dislocation of the military locations said, "Yes, it is true that locations were dislodged. They are only locations in Marte and Rann. In Rann one officer and seven soldiers were killed in action.
"The Boko Haram even used drones during the attack against army gun trucks.
"There had been earlier reports of Boko
Haram importing sophisticated weapons through land borders."
