Ex- NUJ National Scribe, Jola Ogunlusi dies at 91
Former National Secretary of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, and first president of the Festac Town Residents Association, FTRA, Lagos, Jola Ogunlusi, is dead.

Former National Secretary of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, and first president of the Festac Town Residents Association, FTRA, Lagos, Jola Ogunlusi, is dead.
He moved into festac in 1978 as one of the first allotees and played a significant role in the early development of the community.
Ogunlusi had been a vocal advocate for preserving the original vision of FESTAC Town even as he also held various leadership positions,including serving as chairman of Amuwo-Odofin Community Development Committee.
A release by his family signed by Gbenga Aruleba read, "With profound sadness but utmost gratitude to God for a fulfilled and life well- spent, the Ogunlusi family announces the passing of our beloved Patriarch, Father, Grand father and Uncle, Mr. Jola Ogunlusi, who departed this life on Saturday, April 19, 2025, at 9:54 am, following a brief illness. He was aged 91.
Papa Jola, as he was fondly known, indeed lived a fulfilled life, a life dedicated to the service of humanity and God.
May Papa Jola’s soul rest in perfect peace.
