A Senior Secondary School student of Ugbaike Technical Secondary School, Enugu Ezike in Igbo Eze North Local Government of Enugu State, Chibueze Odo, has been stabbed to death.
Chibueze was stabbed on the neck on Saturday evening at Obollo Afor, where he was also, a part time apprentice.
He was reportedly stabbed on the neck by his friend and roommate who invited him to the scene and murdered him.
The roommate who simply identified himself Arinze told the police at Obollo Afor that Chibueze lost his phone and he gave him his second telephone which was faulty to repair and use until he needed it, adding that when he wanted to collect his phone, the deceased told him that
he repaired the phone with N13,000 and bought a memory card at N1 500 totalling N14,500.
Arinze further reportedly said the reason for his action was that Chibueze refused to give him back his phone when he needed it until he paid N14,500.
"When he met me I was with other boys. I asked him to give me my phone and he said he needed his refund. When turned round to leave, I stabbed him on the neck and he died," Arinze reportedly told the police.
The deceased 's father, Chirote Odo, from Ukwuagbudu area of Ugbaike could not be reached for his comments but sources close to the family hinted that Chibueze 's assailant hailed from the neighbouring Umuogbo Inyi Community, in Enugu Ezike.
"He left the work he was doing and got to the place where he was invited to only to be stabbed on the neck severally. His friend and room mate did the odd job of inviting him to the place where he killed him," the relations said.
