Bomb Explosion Kills 2, Several Others Injured In Imo
An Improvised Explosive Device (IED) exploded at Orlu International Market in Imo State, Nigeria, causing the tragic deaths of two people and injuring multiple others. The incident led to chaos and a stampede as residents fled in panic.

“We are now living in fear as the relative peace in the vicinity has been punctuated.”
Imo State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Henry Okoye, who confirmed the incident noted that two hoodlums were killed in the incident, adding, "It was an IED that exploded. The Commissioner of Police, Aboki Danjuma, has deployed Anti-Bomb operatives to the scene.”
According to Okoye, two persons who incidentally were the masterminds were killed in the process of setting up the IED.
He called for calm, pointing out further that, “We have deployed operatives to the area. No cause for alarm, we request for peace and tranquility.”
Meanwhile, the state police command has urged citizens to report suspicious activities or movements in their areas to the Police and other security agencies and remain watchful.
