Sen Fidelis Okoro's corpse now transported to his hometown, Nsukka

The body of Sen Fidelis Okoro has been transported to Nsukka, his home town.

The body was transported from Abuja to Nsukka, after a meeting of indigenous people of Nsukka living in Abuja including Senators Ayogu Eze, Chuka Utazi, as well as other members of the House of  Representatives led by Hon Pat Asadu, who is a ranking member.

The efforts of the Abuja group to bring back the corpse was said to have been coordinated by Gov Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State, who reportedly sent government officials to his government to Enugu and Kogi/ Benue borders to receive and also ensure easy passage through the borders in view of the inter - state border closure following the Coronavirus pandemic lockdown. 

Its expected that formal announcement of his demise National Assembly, demise would be made later, after consultations with relevant political, religious and community leaders in the cultural zone.
