Ondo PDP Holds Governorship Primary Election Today


The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, holds its governorship primary election in Ondo State today in Akure, the state capital.

The election will be held at the International Culture and Events Centre, Akure.
Already, seven aspirants have been cleared by the Senator Sam-Egwu-led screening committee to contest in the indirect primary election.
The aspirants include a former deputy governor of the state, Agboola Ajayi, 
Bamidele Akingboye, Adeolu Akinwumi, Sola Ebiseeni, John Mafo,  Kolade Akinjo and Bosun Arebuwa.
A statement by the state Publicity Secretary of the patty, Kennedy Peretei, noted that the Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State, Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, would be the chairman of the seven-man committee to conduct the primary election.
According to Peretei 627 delegates from the 18 local government areas of the state are expected to vote in the election.
He further stated that the accreditation of delegates is scheduled to commence by 10:00 in the morning.
