14th Asagba of Asaba,HRH Epiphany Azinge, Thanks God Over His Coronation
The Asagba of Asaba, His Royal Highness, Prof Epiphany Chigbogu Azinge, SAN, OON, on January 5, 2025, attended a Thanksgiving Mass, following his coronation as the 14th Asagba of Asaba at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, West-End, Asaba, Delta State.
The Asagba of Asaba, His Royal Highness, Prof Epiphany Chigbogu Azinge, SAN, OON, on January 5, 2025, attended a Thanksgiving Mass, following his coronation as the 14th Asagba of Asaba at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, West-End, Asaba, Delta State.
The Mass was celebrated by the Metropolitan Archbishop Emeritus of Abuja, His Eminence, Cardinal John Onaiyekan, ably assisted by Most Reverend Dr. Micheal Odogwe Elue, Catholic Bishop of Issele-Uku Diocese, and severall other priests.
Among the top dignitaries that attended the Mass included the deputy Governor of Delta State, Chief Monday Onyeme, who represented the Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori; former governor of the state, Chief James Ibori, former governor of Anambra State and Labour Party presidential candidate in the 2023 general election, Peter Obi; former governor of okd Enugu State and the elder brother of HRH Valerie Azinge; Dr Okwesilieze Nwodo and the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, BOT, of the South East, South- South
Professionals of Nigeria, SESSPN, Chief Emeka- Ugwoju.
Others included Chief Tony Idigbe,SAN as well as Chief Henry Okolo, who are high ranking Chiefs in the Asagba’s cabinet;
and Innocent Isichei and Ekenem Isichei.
The mother of Innocent and Ekenem, late Lady Cecilia Isichei nee Nwodo, is the senior sister of HRH, Valerie Azinge,SAN, the wife of the Asagba of Asaba. Chief Mrs Grace Obayi nee Nwodo, the first child of Late Igwe J. U. Nwodo, and the Asagba's wife elder sister, also joined the occasion.
