The Enugu State Independent Electoral Commission, ENSIEC, has released the Elections time table for the conduct of the Local Government Elections in the State. In an official gazette signed by the Chairman of ENSIEC, Dr. Mike E. Ajogwu, SAN, says the Elections time table States as follows: 1. 19th November, 2021: Public Notice announcing the Chairmanship and Councillorship Elections in all the Local Government Council in Enugu State. 2. 10th December-20th December, 2021; Political parties geared towards selection of candidates for elections are to be prepared and submitted to Enugu State Independent Electoral Commission with time table specifying particular times, days and venues for the primaries. No two or more parties shall be allowed to conduct their primaries at the same time, day and venue.                                

3. Political Parties are to obtain nomination forms, ENSIEC 7 and ENSIEC 7A for Chairmanship and Councillorship Elections respectively on 3rd January, 2022 to 6th January, 2022. Nomination forms shall be completed and returned on or before 7th January, 2022 by all political parties.                             

4. 17th to 18th January, 2022: Lists of candidates nominated by political parties shall be forwarded to the headquarters of Enugu State Independent Electoral Commission, No: 3 Achi Street, Independence Layout, Enugu. 5. 20th to 26th January, 2022: Checking of Candidates Credentials Councillorship Candidates shall be checked at various Local Government Headquarters while Chairmanship Candidates shall be checked at Enugu State Independent Electoral Commission Headquarters, No: 3 Achi Street, Independence layout, Enugu. 6. 2nd to 10th February, 2022: Return of lists of qualified and unqualified candidates on Forms ENSIEC 3 and ENSIEC 4 for Chairmanship and Councillorship Elections respectively to the Political Parties. 7. 14th to 15th February, 2022: Replacement of unqualified candidates by the affected Political Parties, Names of two Party Agents with passport photographs attached to each polling booths shall be forwarded to Enugu State Independent Electoral Commission Headquarters, No.3 Achi Street, Independence layout, Enugu by Political Parties. Parties shall endorse the passport photographs.                

8. 23rd February, 2022: Voter's accreditation and voting by Open Secret Ballot system in the hours of 8:00am and 3:00pm.                              

9. 2nd March, 2022: Chairmanship and Councillorship Run-Off Election if need be.
