Nigeria's Chief of Defence Staff, CDS, General Chris Musa, has commiserated with the government and people of Kenya over the death of its CDS, Gen Francis Ogolla, noting that the officer was well decorated, highly professional and dedicated his life to the service of his nation.
Nine officers died along with General Ogalla during the air disaster, including
Brigadier Swale Saidi; Colonel Duncan Keittany; Lieutenant Colonel David Sawe;
Major George Benson Magondu and Captain Sora Mohamed.
Others also included, Captain Hillary Litali,;
Senior Sergeant John Kinyua Mureithi;
Sgt Cliphonce Omondi and Sgt Rose Nyawira.
However, Musa also said that Ogolla was committed to the security of the East African sub-region in particular and Africa in general.
The CDS on behalf of members of the Nigerian Armed Forces expressed sadness over the news of the helicopter crash which resulted to the tragic loss of the brilliant General and other senior military officers of the Kenya Defence Forces at Maramwet County yesterday.
The CDS further enjoined Kenyans to be consoled by the good name, accomplishments and the great memories of his impactful life during his meritorious service to his nation while alive even as he
prayed the Almighty God to grant his soul and that of the departed colleagues eternal rest, and their families and the Keyan Defence Forces the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
