A  top member of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Segun Sowunmi says that ex- Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, was “loaned” to work with the All Progressives Congress, APC -led government.

Sowunmi spoke on Friday’s edition of Channels Television’s current affairs show Politics Today. 
Wike, the current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, fell out with the PDP hierarchy in the build-up to the 2023 election. Wike later worked for the APC, but ensured that the party won Rivers State in the presidential poll, even as the PDP won the governorship election.
However, while many have questioned Wike’s membership in the PDP, Sowunmi noted that the former Rivers State governor would return to the main opposition party at the right time.
