For Asking Traditional Ruler To Meet Her In Car, Monarch Strips Commissioner Of Chieftaincy Title


Edo State Commissioner for Arts, Culture, Tourism and Diaspora Affairs, Mrs. Uyi Oduwa-Malaka, has been stripped of her honorary chieftaincy title: of Uzoyare of Ozalla, over alleged disrespect to her Monarch.

The Onotare of Ozalla Kingdom in Owan West Local Government, King Nathaniel Igelugbo Omogbai was reportedly asked by the commissioner to meet her in her car.
Oduwa-Malaka was therefore accused of misconduct and disrespect to the monarch, for asking him to meet her in the car, when she drove into the palace on April 12.
A statement by the palace’s spokesman, on Wednesday, Dr. Osumah Obaze, ordered the revocation of the chieftaincy title of the commissioner, to act as a deterrent to others with the intention of desecrating the respected throne.
The monarch also said another title: Ozemevboya of Ozalla, given to George Ohioma, a lawyer, was also revoked, without explaining further.
