Easter Celebration: PSC Boss Calls For National Rebirth, Urges Christians To Sacrifice For New Nigeria

By Ikechukwu Ani

As Christians all over the world observe and celebrate the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, the Chairman of the Police Service Commission and retired Inspector General of Police, IGP, Dr. Solomon Arase CFR, has called for national rebirth in the face of the current economic and security challenges.

In his goodwill message, Arase urged Christians to use the opportunity of the occasion to pray for a new Nigeria and support the government in its determined efforts to ensure security of lives and properties across the country.

According to the PSC Chairman " let's use this time to reflect on what binds us together rather than those things that divide us."

Arase also called for patriotism and sacrifice just as Christ sacrificed himself for the redemption of mankind.

He enjoined the staff of the Commission and members of the Nigeria Police Force to rededicate themselves to the service of the country, adding that Nigeria was a blessed country that was gradually regaining its glory.

He prayed that this year's Easter should inspire them to a new beginning  of happiness,  prosperity and abundance.
