Gov Peter Mbah's NYSC Certificate: Enugu Governorship Tribunal Orders Mbah, NYSC DG To Appear Before It June 22


The Enugu Governorship Petitions Tribunal, EGPT, has summoned the Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah and the Director General of the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, Brig- General Yushau Dogara Ahmed, to appear before the tribunal on June 22, 2023.

The governorship candidate of the People's Redemption Party, PRP, Elder Chris Agu, and the PRP, obtained the subpoena for the two star witnesses to appear before the Tribunal.

The subpoena directed Mbah to appear in person even as NYSC Director General or his representative must appear before the Tribunal to answer questions on its disclaimer of Peter Mbah's NYSC Discharge Certificate.

The Subpoena Ducestecum signed by the Chairman of the Tribunal, Justice Kudirat Akano,  and addressed to the Director General of the NYSC read, "You are commanded in the name of the President and Commander - in- Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, to attend before the Governorship Tribunal at Enugu on the 22 of June, 2023, at the forenoon and so from day to day, until the above cause is tried to tender the following documents:- Letter of Disclaimer issued in respect of the second respondent's (Peter Mbah) purported  NYSC Certificate of Service, claimed to have been made in favour of" Mbah.

"Any other document (s) relating to same. Dated 15th day of June, 2023.

On his own, Governor Mbah was also commanded to appear before the Tribunal on June 22, 2023, "to give evidence on behalf of the petitioners," in the case of his controversial NYSC Discharge Certificate.
