Tinubu Urges Chinese Investors to Explore Africa’s Growth Opportunities

President Bola Tinubu has highlighted Africa’s vast potential for investment, growth, and development, emphasizing its dynamic population, productive economy, and abundant natural resources. Speaking during a bilateral meeting with Chinese Premier Li Qiang in Beijing on Wednesday, Tinubu praised the role of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) in enhancing relations between Africa and China, which he described as a vital tool for achieving mutual development and prosperity.
“The African spirit of the China-Africa Cooperation Forum is rooted in mutual respect and cooperation, promoting the development, happiness, peace, and stability of our peoples,” Tinubu stated. “We believe in shared interests, particularly in investment and development. As a Nigerian and the Chairman of ECOWAS, I am pleased that both sides have agreed on a strategic partnership that is being advanced, and this is the path forward.”
Tinubu called for a strategic focus on specific areas of cooperation to ensure that the relationship between Africa and China is mutually beneficial. He emphasized the importance of a collaborative approach to economic development, noting that Africa is a key region for economic progress.
“Africa is a crucial place for economic development. As leaders, we seek to advance and develop together with our partners. The China-Africa Cooperation Forum is particularly focused on identifying areas where we can work together to ensure that this relationship benefits all of us,” the president added.
President Tinubu, who attended the 9th China-Africa Cooperation Forum in Beijing, expressed his gratitude to the Chinese government for the warm hospitality extended to him and his delegation. He also acknowledged China’s willingness to work closely with Nigeria to implement the agreements reached between President Xi Jinping and himself, aimed at establishing a new comprehensive strategic partnership between the two nations.
