Soludo’s Wife Urges Women to Prioritize Health Over Beauty Investments
Dr. Noye Soludo, wife of the Anambra State Governor, urges women to prioritize health over cosmetic beauty at the 2nd Anambra State Women’s Health Summit, stressing the importance of regular check-ups and a balanced lifestyle.
Dr. Noye Soludo, the wife of the Anambra State Governor, has made a compelling call to the women of the state, urging them to prioritize their health and the well-being of their families over the pursuit of cosmetic beauty. Speaking at the 2nd Anambra State Women’s Health Summit in Awka, organized in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO), she emphasized the importance of investing in regular health check-ups, a balanced diet, and vaccinations instead of spending money on skin-whitening creams.
Dr. Soludo expressed concern over the low vaccination rates in the state and highlighted the critical role of immunization in protecting children from preventable diseases. “Mothers should prioritize their children’s health by ensuring they receive all necessary vaccines,” she stated, noting that these vaccines are free, safe, and vital for preventing outbreaks of diseases such as measles, polio, and meningitis.
She also praised the state government’s efforts in reducing maternal mortality rates through the introduction of free maternal care policies and urged women to respect and embrace their natural skin tones. “Instead of investing in whitening creams, women should focus on maintaining their health through proper nutrition and regular medical check-ups,” she advised.
Dr. Soludo’s comments were echoed by other speakers at the summit, including Professor Brian Adinma, a consultant in obstetrics and gynecology, who stressed the importance of reproductive health, and Dr. Afam Obidike, Anambra’s Commissioner for Health, who highlighted the government’s commitment to improving the health of women and children across the state.
The summit served as a platform for discussing ongoing health challenges in Anambra and reinforcing the message that a healthy lifestyle is the most valuable investment for women and their families.
