RFK Jr. says he is suspending, not ending his campaign. His campaign says he ‘has not endorsed Trump’
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. suspends his presidential campaign, stating he is redirecting his political efforts. He clarifies that his decision aims to prevent splitting the vote, which could benefit Kamala Harris.
Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who recently announced his decision to suspend his presidential campaign, emphasized that he is not ending his political battle but merely changing its course. Amid growing speculation that he would endorse former President Donald Trump, Kennedy clarified that his decision to withdraw from the race in battleground states was motivated by a desire to avoid splitting the vote and inadvertently aiding Vice President Kamala Harris.
Kennedy’s campaign quickly moved to dispel rumors, stating that the reports of his supposed support for Trump were unfounded. A spokesperson for Kennedy reiterated that the court order surrounding this issue was not accurate and that Kennedy remains committed to his principles, though he is stepping back from his presidential bid.
In a rally held in Phoenix, where both Kennedy and Trump made appearances, Bruce Brimacomb, a longtime supporter of Kennedy, expressed uncertainty about his future voting decisions. “What I heard was not an endorsement of Trump, but rather an expression of concern,” Brimacomb noted. “Trump isn’t the unifying figure that Kennedy’s campaign has represented. This is a significant difference.”
As the Democratic National Convention wrapped up with Harris formally accepting the nomination and outlining her policy vision, the political landscape remains uncertain, with Kennedy’s next moves being closely watched by his supporters and opponents alike.
