Man Charged with Abusing Daughter in Lagos

Lucky Ugwauka, a 38-year-old resident of Badagry, Lagos, has been charged with sexually abusing his 10-year-old daughter. Ugwauka appeared before the Badagry High Court on Wednesday, where he pleaded not guilty to the charges of aggravated assault.

Inspector Ayodele Adeosun, the prosecutor, stated that the alleged abuse occurred on August 16 at 6 pm on Abapasha Road, Ojo area, Lagos. Adeosun also mentioned that Ugwauka had threatened to kill his daughter if she exposed the abuse. The charges against him contravene sections 139, 263, and 58 of the 2015 Lagos State Criminal Code.

Deputy Magistrate Patrick Adekomaiya granted Ugwauka bail in the sum of N500,000, with two sureties required to also post bail in the same amount. The sureties must be class 14 civil servants. The case has been adjourned to September 30.
