Dangote Refinery Set to Meet Nigeria and Sub-Saharan Africa’s Fuel Needs with Top-Quality Products

The President of the Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, announced on Tuesday that the Dangote refinery is poised to meet the fuel demands of Nigeria and Sub-Saharan Africa with products of the highest quality. Speaking at a press conference in Lagos to mark the launch of the refinery’s first Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) production at a capacity of 650,000 barrels per day, Dangote emphasized the global competitiveness of the refinery’s output.

“We must thank the President for this achievement because, without the government’s support, we would not be where we are now,” Dangote said. He expressed confidence that the refinery would not only revolutionize the energy sector in Nigeria but also have a significant impact across Sub-Saharan Africa.

“We have the capacity to meet the needs of not only Nigeria but at least Sub-Saharan Africa,” Dangote stated, highlighting the refinery’s ability to produce fuel at a competitive price while maintaining the highest standards of quality. “You will get cheap gasoline, your car will last longer, and you won’t have to worry about engine issues. The quality will rival that of any country in the world, including the United States and other leading nations.”

This development comes as Nigeria faces challenges in its oil and gas sector, with the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPCL) recently acknowledging financial pressures due to substantial debts owed to international oil suppliers. The Dangote refinery, once fully operational, is expected to alleviate some of these challenges by reducing the country’s dependence on imported petroleum products and ensuring a stable supply of fuel.
