Breaking News: Nigerian Air Force Special Forces Eliminate Notorious Terrorist Leader in Kaduna
The Nigerian Air Force has confirmed the successful neutralization of terrorist leader Mustafa Abdullahi and five of his gang members during an operation in Kaduna.
The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has confirmed that its Special Forces successfully neutralized a notorious terrorist leader, Mustafa Abdullahi, along with five members of his gang in Kaduna State. The operation took place in the Sabon Gida forest near Sabon Birni Road in the Igabi Local Government Area (LGA) on August 31, 2024.
According to a statement released by Air Marshal Edward Gabkwet, the Director of Public Relations and Information for the Nigerian Air Force, the operation was initiated following an intelligence report that indicated the presence of Abdullahi and his gang in the area. The intelligence further revealed that the terrorists were planning to carry out kidnappings, assaults, or killings of innocent civilians.
In response, a Special Forces team from the 413th Force Protection Group of the Nigerian Air Force was dispatched to the forest to locate and neutralize the threat. Upon encountering the terrorists, who were traveling on motorcycles, the gang opened fire on the Special Forces. The NAF troops responded with heavy gunfire, ultimately eliminating Abdullahi and all five members of his gang.
The operation resulted in the seizure of several items from the terrorists, including five firearms, a locally made machine gun, ammunition, and various other accessories such as lamps, SIM cards, and mobile phone cases.
Air Marshal Gabkwet emphasized that the Nigerian Air Force and its Special Forces are committed to eradicating criminal activities in Igabi, Birnin Gwari, and the surrounding areas to ensure the safety and security of residents.
