Borno Finance Commissioner, Ali Ahmed Dies After 14 Days In Office
Borno State’s newly appointed Commissioner for Finance, Ahmed Ali Ahmed, tragically passed away at his home in Maiduguri just 14 days after taking office. His death was discovered when his room door was forced open after an unusual delay in his morning routine.
The Commissioner for Finance in Borno State, Ahmed Ali Ahmed, is dead. He died on Monday at his house on Damboa Road in Maiduguri, the state capital, after 14 days in office.
Sources said that the commissioner’s room door was forced open after it was observed that his usual time of waking up had passed without any sign of him.
State’s Commissioner of Information and Internal Security, Usman Tar, confirmed Ahmed’s death in a statement, adding that the burial would take place at his residence on Monday evening, according to Islamic rites.
Ahmed who was sworn -in on August 10, 2024, was the State Zonal Manager of Zenith Bank in Maiduguri before his appointment.
Governor Babagana Zulum has since his second term inauguration in May 2023 lost two commissioners and a special adviser.
