There was a public presentation of the Book, An Imperfect Storm: A Pandemic and the Coming of Age of A Nigerian Institution in Lagos on Friday, August 16, 2024.
The book presentation authored by the
Assistant Director General, World Health Organisation, WHO, and former Director General, Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, Dr Chikwe Ihekweazu and his wife, Mrs Vivianne Ihekweazu, Managing Director, Nigeria Health Watch, (a health communication and advocacy organization) was held at Alliance François, Ikoyi, Lagos.
According to the Director General of the World Trade Organisation, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, the book is “A riveting account of the battle against COVID-19 by one of Nigeria’s frontline heroes in that battle, Chikwe Ihekweazu and his wife and partner Vivianne.”
Also, the Director-General of the World WHO, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, said, “This book provides a compelling narrative of Nigeria’s COVID-19 response, as told through Chikwe’s unique lens as DG of the NCDC. I commend this book for its exploration of Nigeria’s resilient response-a true testament to collaborative efforts, leadership, and the unwavering spirit that influenced an entire nation facing a global crisis.

On its own N.E.S.H. Foundation noted that, “An Imperfect Storm” is a must read book for all Nigerians interested in how the battle against COVID 19 was fought in the country.
