EPL: Conte ready to break personal rule to replace Solskjaer at Man Utd

Antonio Conte would be ready to break a personal rule to become the new manager of Manchester United.

The feisty Italian is not known to join clubs in the middle of a season, but could change his mind if he is approached by the Old Trafford club.

This is according to transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, who insists there are no official talks.

Romano says United’s board are still in conversation over the future of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who watched on as the Red Devils were thrashed 5-0 by Liverpool yesterday.

Conte revealed when he will return to management, saying that the, “First step has to be the final decision on Solskjaer by the (Manchester United) board. Internal talks are still ongoing over how to handle the crisis.

“Antonio Conte would be prepared to talk with Man Utd about project, as revealed today – but there’s still no official contact yet.

“To be clear about Antonio Conte. He’s never been a fan of joining clubs during the season as it’s not in his style – the only club right now that could change Antonio’s mind is Manchester United.

“Still no official talks. Depends of Solskjær situation – matter of respect,” Romano tweeted.
