Unknown gunmen have kidnapped about no fewer than 16 farmers, including women and children in Kaduna State.
The victims were abducted at Udawa village along the Kaduna-Birnin Gwari highway in Chikun Local Government Area of the state on Monday even as four others sustained gunshot wounds.
Those who sustained injuries were abandoned, while the gunmen went away with the rest.
Residents of the area said that  among those abducted included a nursing mother, who had her baby strapped on her back and were going to their farms when the incident occurred.
The residents who spoke said they were yet to get any information on the whereabouts of the victims, particularly the children and women among them, even as the matter had been reported to the police.
The Kaduna state police command is yet to speak over the incident.
