Transfer: Messi accepts one-year deal from PSG

Guillem Balague has made a revelation concerning Lionel Messi’s future at Paris Saint-Germain.

Balague spoke even as many are expecting the Argentina World Cup winner to leave the French side and make a return to Barcelona.

According to Balague, “There is an agreement for Messi to renew his contract” in Ligue1.
Balague, a Spanish football expert, noted that the 35-year-old has accepted a new contract offer from PSG, despite interest from Messi’s former club Barcelona where he played for 21 years.
Messi’s current deal will expire at the end of the season and it was widely reported that the 7-time Ballon d’Or winner will make a decision about his future after the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Major League Soccer, MLS, club Inter Miami have also been mooted as an option for him, but Balague said football has revealed that there is an agreement for the veteran forward to sign a new deal.
He tweeted,  “Time to talk about the future of Leo. For four months Luis Campos has communicated with Jorge Messi,
“There was a key meeting in Doha between Jorge and PSG chairman Nasser Al Khelaifi and they advanced. There is an agreement for Messi to renew his contract with PSG.
“He has two years [deal] plus one with PSG. The French club has abandoned the idea of using the ‘plus 1’ to renew and instead they offer one year plus another one to be agreed by both parties.”
